The garden was owned and developed by George Barrand Tindale (1903-1977), agricultural scientist and horticulturist who personally built this beautiful garden of exotic plants amidst towering mountain ash trees. The garden is especially renown for its rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias.
The garden is open from 10am to 5pm every day except Christmas Day.

The garden 3.4 hectare plot as purchased by George Tindale in 1958 and while actively involved in his professional life, managed to also create this wonderful garden. Tindal married Margaret Adams in 1961 who added sculptures to the gardens and rockeries and walks, After retirement George Tindale worked on the garden until his death in 1977.
