Located within the town hall complex, the Horsham Regional Arts Gallery was established in 1973.
The gallery collection is presented as a celebration of the diverse community and environment of the Wimmera.
The gallery collection is based around three pillars: Australian Photography, the Wimmera and its Artists and the Mack Jost Collection of Australian Painting and Works on Paper.
The gallery was one of the first to see the importance of photography in the arts and has since its inception, built a collection that is now nationally significant.
The gallery was fortunate to be bequeathed the Mack Jost collection of artworks in 1983 and items in several subsequent years. Mack Jost was born in Horsham in 1918 and went on to partake in an internationally distinguished career as a soloist and chamber musician for the piano.
In addition to its permanent displays, the gallery regularly provides special exhibitions usually over a three week period and includes international, local and indigenous artists.
The gallery also provides school Art Clubs for local school children and talks, workshops and events for the community.
