Great Keppel is a tropical resort island on the Great Barrier reef.
The main island of the Keppel group which consists of 17 islands as part of the Great Barrier Reef.
The highest point on the island and offering spectacular views of Great Keppel, as well as the other islands in the group, is Mount Wyndham.

A wealth of beaches
The island boasts 17 beaches to be explored via the numerous walking tracks.
Snorkeling among the local reefs is popular at the Putney Beach and Fisherman’s Beach that are closest to the island’s resorts.

Goannas and lizards are often seen on the islands, as well as colorful lorikeets and butterflies.
The island can be accessed via a thirty minute ride over the 15 kilometer trip on the ferry that leaves from Yeppoon on the Central Queensland coast.
