The beach is bordered by the Brisbane Water National Park to the north west and faces the beautiful Broken Bay and its headlands. It is relatively isolated in terms of holiday traffic and provides a relaxing retreat exploring the natural features of the beach, headlands and national park.
The sand formations made on the beach due to the bay unusual wave patterns and drainage. The northern end of the beach is not an ideal swimming beach due to this and it is not recommended for any but experienced ocean swimmers. There is, however, a rock swimming pool at the southern end of the beach.
